Somewhere between LA and Santa Barbara 2006
I'm an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Ohio State. I grew up in Montreal, where I was a Suzuki kid for many years (I was eventually demoted to viola from second violin) and went to an artsy public school for a while (a bunch of famous people went there, but I didn't know them). I did my undergrad at McGill, went to grad school at UCLA, and started my career at the University of Manitoba. I work mainly in metaphysics; I'm particularly interested in objects that have traditionally been taken to be abstract, especially sets, propositions, fictional characters, and musical works. (As this guy put it, "you write about it, I write it.")
In Spring 2012 I am visiting CSMN at the University of Oslo, reading Scandinavian police procedurals, and playing floorball.
